Everybody has a true passion. Mine is boating 12 months out of the year on a comfortable, seaworthy, solid built, trailerable, pilothouse boat.
We cannot control the elements outdoors, but we can be very comfortable in our boats. A lot of my most enjoyable times on the waters are when others have stowed their boats “till next season.” The RF 246 is my personal boat of choice after years of water travels and life on the waters in different pilothouse boats. Yes, I own one and travel in it. I have owned several pilothouse type boats and understand the needs of the individual and/or families using boats for travel, and/or just a very comfortable day on the boat.
I find that many of the dealerships sold the boats, but did not own one as an individual, nor did they have the time to travel on the boats as to stay abreast of just what is really needed or happens in the process of extended travel. Why I started my business was generated by a change in attitude and performance I saw and experienced in the current boating industry. Everybody is in a hurry. High dollar boats being delivered to dealerships incomplete or with sub-standard work and/or fit & finish. Boat dealerships having to move several brands of boats to keep the high dollar dealership locations and all their employees employed, which generally leads to the “after the purchase…on to the next guy” treatment often received in today’s marine industry.
I also noticed that much of the work was being outsourced to custom shops to help reduce overhead and at the same time provide the customer with a true tradesman with that particular skill and workmanship. My intent is to bring back into the boating industry at least one “constructor.” A title once used in the boating industry as to describe the guy between the boat buying individual, and the boat building crews. Today, I am that guy. I can deliver you a boat just as it arrives from the factory, or, use many of the highly skilled custom shops in the Nashville, TN area for detailed custom jobs needed for your boat. This will allow each individual customer to use their own personal skills/abilities, use shops in their own home town or port communities for final rigging and completion work, or, use the skilled specialty labor force I use on our own family vessels.
My goal is to deliver your boat built the way they want it, and giving you the time needed for boat visits and in water orientations. I had the pleasure of growing up in family business prior to the “big box” stores where my Father knew the customers on a first name basis, enjoyed his life and had his customers as his friends and travel companions. This too is what I desire in my business.
